Behavioural Interventionist Foundations - 60 Hours - Online Course
with the Behavioural Intervention Training Partnership (BITP)

Behavioural Interventionist Foundations Course (BIF) is open to all community members.
Behavioural Interventionists implement Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programming for
learners diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in home, community, and school
settings. BIF is a comprehensive theoretical introduction to the key principles and practices used
by Behavioural Interventionists. Because it is completely online, BIF enables participants to
complete the course on their own schedule and is ideal for participants living in rural areas.

Topics covered in BIF include:
  • Key principles of learning and behaviour
  • Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Instructional techniques (Discrete Trial and Milieu Teaching)
  • Working with families and professionals
  • Data-based decision making
  • Including learners in school and community settings
  • Augmentative and alternative communication
  • Functional assessment and intervention for problem behaviour
